Bridal/Groomal Session

Yep, you read right.  Groomal Session.  It’s the best word we could come up with in this scenario.  You see, Rachel & Brett wanted a lot of fun, creative photos of themselves in their wedding attire and realized that’s practically impossible to count on they day OF your wedding.  Granted, you have some time with just the bride, groom, and photographer on your wedding day but you rarely two full hours!

This is where the great idea came into place.

Why not include Brett in on Rachel’s bridal session?  They had their ‘first look’ overlooking the beautiful Bell Buckle hills of Tennessee – what a sweet moment!  Needless to say, after shooting and experiencing this session, we would all highly recommend this new trend.

Mr. & Mrs. Blackburn

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

You can tell Mary & David have many friends and family in their lives who love them dearly.  Everyone was blessed to be a part of their day!  I couldn’t think of a better way to start off your marriage than with smiles & laughter they were able to have 🙂

So excited to see you traveling through life together with God’s love for each other – blessings to you both!

Mary + David | Franklin Engagement Photography

Mary & David are getting married!!!  This engagement session was pretty awesome because I’ve known Mary since I was born (I’m sure she even had times of babysitting me, ha) – needless to say, we are all so excited for her.  As for David, he fits with her perfectly – I was so glad to be able to spend some time with them both.  We were blessed with gorgeous weather as we ventured all over The Factory in Franklin & a park close by – what a great session!  July 16th is just around the corner!

Creative Inspirations

Hello, lovely people.  Here is a little creative inspiration for the day…

I was walking around my home today and couldn’t help but admire a few things.  The cool thing about recently getting married and moving into our own place is we’ve had to find our own furniture, decorations, kitchen stuff, etc.  As long as this process may take, our home has been allowed to be filled with a lot of cool stuff!  This little post includes just a few things that make me happy to have  &  see around my home.  May it also inspire you to fill your surroundings with beautiful things.

First off, our wedding book

I absolutely LOVE it!!!  It’s a modern album (which you can order through Cali Ashton Photography 😉 ) and has sleek pages (see below)…

Engaged… now what?!!

Whew! 2010 started a steady surge of people around me getting married (myself included!).  I’m not sure how you all are handling it, but I went from being a begging-for-advice fiancée in August to a pro-planner bride by December.  Okay… maybe not ‘pro’… but you only get one go at it, okay!  The purpose of this blog is to help those of you out there that are happily engaged, but maybe just a little stressed as to how to plan that awesome day you’ve been dreaming of so long.

Keep in mind as you read a few of my suggestions that we were all into saving our money for the marriage part of life and not spending it all in one day.  Weddings can be gorgeous with this outlook as well as have happy & content guests.  While I know spending less is a good idea.. we found it to be harder than we thought!  Did you know the average money spent on a Nashville wedding is said to be around $19,000 – $33,000!  Wow-zahs!  Hopefully this little blog will help you have the wedding of your dreams as well as bring down that average 😉

Ideas for you, the future bride (and groom!):
