Thanksgiving 2013 | Personal

Hey, guys!  Cali here!

We thought it was about time to let you in on our life for a bit.  Since we have such amazing clients we sometimes forget to keep you updated on what’s going on over here!

Nyk got a Big Green Egg a couple weeks ago (yes, he’s still over the moon about it AND we get to eat delicious meat almost every day 😉 )  Needless to say, he took the challenge to make the best Thanksgiving turkey ever this year.  And, boy oh boy, just wait until you see what went down!

We documented the rest of our Thanksgiving too – but this post is mostly dedicated to our first turkey adventure.

Enjoy!

He’s a coffee guy while I usually like my tea.  Needless to say, we are surrounded with good beverages in these chilly mornings!  Obviously, I have a cinnamon trend going on this year.Bergthold-family-Thanksgiving-2013-Turkey-Big-Green-Egg-02

Gosh, I love this guy so much!  Just bask in that winter beard-love 😉  And yes, that’s a Ron Swanson mug so it makes him even more manly.Bergthold-family-Thanksgiving-2013-Turkey-Big-Green-Egg-03I probably would’ve been more grossed out if he wasn’t being so silly about it.  We have fun.Bergthold-family-Thanksgiving-2013-Turkey-Big-Green-Egg-04Dun dun dunnnnn! Introducing our lovely Big Green Egg!  The longer we have it the more excited I get about it (I had no idea how amazing it was when he first talked about it).  Yum!Bergthold-family-Thanksgiving-2013-Turkey-Big-Green-Egg-05The finished product!  Nyk & my dad were the skilled carvers of this 20 lb turkey while everyone else contributed toward the rest of the yummy food!  Now I’m wishing this meal was for dinner tonight!  And, in case you were wondering, it was the best turkey we’ve ever had!Bergthold-family-Thanksgiving-2013-Turkey-Big-Green-Egg-06

My parent’s have awesome golden yellow walls in the dining room which always looks perfect for Thanksgiving!  Since half of us don’t care too much for pumpkin pie, I found a recipe from Averie Cooks for Peanut Butter Snickers Pie with Salted Caramel & oreo crust!  I can’t even describe how good it was.  You should follow her on Facebook & make your own!  Nyk said it should be renamed ’10 Cavities Pie’, ha.

And here is our beautiful family (my side).  Apparently some of us were cool enough to stay in our slippers all day!Bergthold-family-Thanksgiving-2013-Turkey-Big-Green-Egg-08

Blessings to you all!  We hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving & got to enjoy it with those you love!

Karen Jones - I like the mug about the dogs/cats, but I would qualify it to say no dog under 15 pounds instead of 5!

Averie @ Averie Cooks - Thank you so much for your email and for the shoutout in this post! Your photography is truly….mindblowing! WOW! You are most definitely professional photographers 🙂 It’s so wonderful to see posts like this, with such artfully cropped and skillfully shot images. Anyway – glad you like the pie and so happy you stumbled across me on FB. Thanks for trying the recipe and if you try others, LMK 🙂
